Child Abuse: Teenage Boy Beats Baby Girl to Death
61I picked up a news report on the BBC website today, and could hardly believe what I was reading!
In Manchester, England, a fifteen year old boy was left to look after a two year old girl for a couple of hours while the toddler's mother went out to collect her benefits cheque. During that time the teenager inflicted sixty-eight separate injuries on the girl, including a bite, smashing her face to a pulp with repeated punches. The child died in hospital.
The defence seems to be offering a case that the boy “suffered an abnormality of mind which impaired his responsibility”.
Abnormality of mind?! What on earth can have been going on inside his head, for God's sake? What could possibly have driven a young man to make such a brutal attack on a defenceless toddler? He does not belong in society.
Surely, if he was unstable and capable of such an assault, there must have been previous signs and evidence of his “abnormalities of mind”. I cannot conceive how the mother, who must surely have known that the fifteen year old was of “abnormal mind”, could have considered, even for a brief moment, leaving her two-year old child in his care. She must live with that fatal decision for the rest of her life.
I have no final point to make with this short hub, or thought provoking conclusion. I just wanted to bring the sad and sorry story to your attention and register my personal outrage.

Perhaps it has something to do with poverty and education level.
WTF THAT EFFIN BOY SHOULD BE BEATEN. YOU NEVER HIT A BABY WTF IS WRNG WITH HIM. THAT MAKES ME ANGRY. HE SERSERVES TO DIE IN JAIL!!!! FUCKING PUNK!!!!
I totally agree with mo. this kid deserves to rot in jail for what he did to a defencless little girl. Like WTF was this kid thinking when he was beating her. if he is in jail, all i know is that prisoners don't like 2 things. rapers and people whoe beat CHILDREN
My Heart goes out to the mother of the toddler. But if she knew that the teenager had "abnormality of the mind" then she shouldn't have left him with her.
This story makes me feel =(
It is very heartbreaking when things like that. I feel awful for the poor mother when she found out her young daughter passed away. Also, as you and Writer Rider said before, education does affect the state of mind of others, doesn't it?

Welcome to America. We hear stuff like this "all" the time (sigh). What's going on in a person's head that they could do such a thing? I have no idea!
